Types of Psoriasis

Psoriasis is an immune-mediated inflammatory disease (IMID) which means that the immune system is not functioning correctly.

In psoriasis, the immune system is overactive, and this can cause symptoms on the skin and sometimes in the joints.

There are several different types of psoriasis, and they can affect different parts of the body. Although there are several clearly defined types of psoriasis, people with the condition may have an overlap of 2, 3 or 4 of these different types.

Click on the links below to find out more about the different types of psoriasis.
