Autumn-Winter 2026/27 Flu vaccinations

The NHS Autumn-Winter 2026/27 flu vaccination campaign has now started.

Why is this important to me if I have psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis?

Some treatments used for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, such as systemics and biologics, are 'immunosuppressive'. They work by reducing the activity of the immune system. This can make you more prone to infections than you usually would be.

If you are on either of these treatments, you may be eligible for the vaccine.

Who is eligible?

The NHS website lists the following groups as eligible for the vaccine this year:

• Those aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2027)
• Those aged 18 to 64 and have certain long-term health conditions
• Pregnant people
• People in a care home
• Main carers for an older or disabled person
• Those with a weakened immune system, and anyone they live with
• People going through homelessness or staying in a homeless hostel or night shelter

Frontline health workers can also get a flu vaccine through their employer.

When can I book?

The National Booking Service (NBS) is now open. The dates and times for appointments vary:

• If you are pregnant, you can book today to get your vaccination now.
• All other eligible groups can book today to get their vaccinations from 1 October.

You can book appointments online, through the NHS app or by calling 119. The NHS also offers accessible booking options.
