It's good to talk

One of the most common misconceptions about psoriasis is that it is 'just a skin condition'.

We know that's just not true. Sometimes, the mental impact of psoriasis can be just as difficult to manage as the physical symptoms. Psoriasis UK is here to help you navigate each aspect of living with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.

But ahead of World Mental Health Day, we wanted to make sure you know where to go if you need additional support:

Mind

Mind provides mental health information, support and advice. They operate a helpline and have a network of Local Minds that run various community services.

Samaritans

Samaritans connects people in crisis with trained volunteers who will always listen, with no judgement or pressure.

You can call them for free at any time, from any phone, on 116 123.

NHS Talking Therapies

Talking therapies involve talking to a trained professional about your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

You do not need to have a diagnosed mental health condition to refer yourself to NHS Talking Therapies.

The Wren Project

Psoriasis UK is a charity partner of The Wren Project, a charity offering free emotional support to those living with autoimmune disease.

Thanks to their highly-trained volunteers, they can offer a safe and confidential space for anyone in a period of distress with their autoimmune disease to talk about how they’re feeling.
