Changes to our benefits resource
There are a number of benefits that may be available to those with psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis.
Living with a long-term condition can sometimes have an affect on your finances. Our updated benefits resource outlines the support you may be entitled to if your condition means you need to make adjustments for everyday activities.
- Taking time off work
- Reducing your working hours
- Access extra support day to day.
What does the resource cover?
- Prescription Pre-Payment Certificate (PPC)
- NHS Low Income Scheme
- Water rates
- Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)
- Universal Credit
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- Disability Allowance (DLA) for children
- Attendance Allowance
- Carers Allowance
Our benefits information sheet is not intended to be a full guide to benefits. Your local Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) or Welfare Rights Office will be able to offer more detailed information as well as help and support in making a claim. Psoriasis UK is unable to advise on individual cases.
What if I still have questions?
Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are both long-term conditions that can ebb and flow. People with these conditions sometimes find the benefits system is not flexible enough. Some feel it does not reflect their ability to work, or to cover the fact that sometimes they will need more help than at other times.
Please go to your local Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) or Welfare Rights Office for more detailed information, help and support in making a claim.
