2026 Research Grant Call Now Open
We are pleased to announce that our 2026 Research Grant Call is now open.
Our PhD Studentship Grants, which were first launched in 2007, supports early career psoriasis researchers each year. In 2025, we received 7 PhD studentship applications of which 3 were awarded, giving a success rate of 43%. This year, awards will be calculated according to the requirements of the proposed project and host institution, with a maximum value of £137,000.
Psoriasis UK is committed to funding vital research that addresses the causes, nature and cure of psoriasis. We seek to fund research that addresses at least one of the Psoriasis Top 10 research priorities. A summary of these priorities can be found through the Psoriasis Priority Setting Partnership (PSP).
We are also inviting applications for the Cecil King Memorial Award, a small grant of up to £10,000 funded by the Cecil King Memorial Foundation. This is available for projects where the lead researcher is under 35 years of age, or within the first five consecutive years, at the time of application, of either their first permanent independent academic research post or a named limited-tenured/fixed-term academic research post, obtained in open competition (note that tenure must cover the duration of the award) based in the UK or Ireland.
The Cecil King Memorial Award is designed to help researchers take the next step in developing their ideas. Applicants should have preliminary pilot or feasibility data that demonstrate the potential of their proposed project and support its likelihood of success.
The grant call opened on Monday 7th September 2026 and will close on Monday, 7 December 2026.
